About this artwork

The central foreground contains a bronze fountain with an octagonal marble bassin from which twelve jets of water spray out. The bassin is surrounded by a little moat the bottom of which is sprinkled with precious stones. The lettering on the edge of the bassin tells us that this fountain is the water of life that springs from the throne of the Lamb.
